Meet Karen Colville: Our Director at Ergonomic Chairs Direct

With over 30 years of experience in ergonomics and commercial interiors, Karen has worked across architecture, design, construction and financial services.

“While working with clients, we realised that existing ‘off the shelf’ chairs often weren’t suitable for people with postural needs. There was little to no guidance available to help individuals or companies understand technical terms. As a result, many struggled to confidently choose the correct chair for specific postural conditions.

…And so came about the idea of ‘Chair Builder’! In a few simple steps, it would digest your information provided online and recommend the right chair based on your personal size and needs. A ‘prescription’ for office seating, taking your worry away from buying the wrong product and potentially causing further health issues.

With this idea in 2020, we founded Ergonomic Chairs-Direct Ltd.”

Whether you’re an individual or part of a larger organisation, our workplace seating assessments are an effective strategy for addressing musculoskeletal pain and discomfort.

Remote Seating Assessments

By using a combination of measurements, photographs and the assistance of video chat, our experienced DSE assessors will provide a comprehensive report complete with findings and recommendations.Can’t meet us in person? Face-to-Face Seating Assessment

For those who prefer an in-person approach, our team of DSE-trained assessors will review and improve your workstation to help reduce musculoskeletal discomfort. We’ve had great results by doing this, with a track record of improving the well-being and productivity of individuals and multiple employees.

After each assessment, our consultants will collate detailed information about the user and their workstation. This will be delivered in one report, including observations, measurements and recommendations.
